Our phones, email and website contact pages have been ringing off the hook.

As many of you know, 3D Systems, one of the leading hardware manufacturers in the additive manufacturing space, recently acquired Rapidform, one of Geomagic's competitors in the capture/modify/inspection software ecosystem. 3D Systems' recent acquisition validates the exploding market for 3D capture technologies and the critical role that they play in all advanced manufacturing workflows, including 3D printing.

Geomagic obviously remains committed to developing the best solutions for 3D capture, modeling, manufacturing, inspection and interaction technologies, and it reinforces our strategy to continue to invest in those areas. As the remaining independent company with the broadest portfolio of solutions focused on 3D data acquisition and manipulation, we welcome the opportunity to engage with existing Rapidform partners and customers as they determine their own path forward over the coming weeks and months.

I am particularly excited because we will be able to introduce an entire new user community to Geomagic's broad portfolio of offerings, including Geomagic Freeform - our market-leading, multi-representational digital modeling application for producing manufacturable, detailed organic products.

And if you are concerned about your investment in Rapidform's software portfolio (XOR, XOV, etc.) or you are struggling to determine who should be your software partner in the future, I would appreciate the opportunity to win your trust and (then) business. If you don't have an assigned Geomagic representative, please email [email protected] or contact me directly at [email protected], and I will point you in the right direction.

Finally, I am excited to leak that Geomagic will be launching a transformative solution which will revolutionize capture-to-model workflows over the coming months. We are in exciting times indeed and very much looking forward to sharing more news!
