Rome wasn’t built in a day, but that was back before you could just hit “print.” Now, many things can be built with even tighter turn-arounds thanks to 3D printing. And when it comes to architecture and concept models, nothing beats full-color, which is why industry-leading 3D printing service company Whiteclouds is expanding its fleet of 3D Systems’ ColorJet machines as part of its transition to a larger facility. The new 60,000 square foot space will feature 14 additional full-color printers, bringing Whiteclouds’ total 3D Systems fleet to 30 units and making it the largest full-color service provider in the world. Added printers include several ProJet 660Pros, ProJet 460Pros, and a ProJet 860 Pro.

Recognizing the wide-ranging benefits of full-color 3D printing, Whiteclouds’ mission is to help companies across the board expand their capabilities and offerings through 3D printing. “Nearly every industry can benefit from this technology and we are here to make that possible in a way that is cost effective and easy to implement,” said Braden Ellis, Whiteclouds CRO. In terms of full-color printing, this expansion is big news for architecture, medical, prototyping and entertainment applications, and excellently complements Whiteclouds’ extensive prototyping and end-use parts services.
