RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., March 15, 2002- Geomagic has promoted Peter Scott to vice president of engineering.

Scott joined Geomagic last April. In his new position he is responsible for engineering management of all Geomagic software products, both off-the-shelf and customized offerings. He is also responsible for development planning related to original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and participating in company strategic planning and management.

Before joining Geomagic, Scott was director of software development at Elumens Corp. He has also held engineering and management positions at NxView Technologies, Virtus Corp. and Raytheon. He has bachelors and masters degrees in computer science from Union College and has done additional post-graduate work at Boston University.
