Geomagic software creates native Autodesk Inventor files from point cloud data
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., May 19, 2009- Geomagic announced today that Geomagic Studio 11 has earned full certification for use with Autodesk Inventor 2009 and 2010 software under the Autodesk Inventor Certified Applications program. The certification indicates that Geomagic Studio has reached the highest levels of quality and interoperability when working with Autodesk Inventor software.

Autodesk Inventor is the foundation of the Autodesk solution for Digital Prototyping. It produces an accurate 3D model that enables users to validate the form, fit and function of a design before physically building it. With Autodesk Inventor, users can safely integrate AutoCAD and 3D data into a single digital model to create a digital prototype of the final product, reducing the number of costly physical prototypes.

Geomagic Studio enables users to create accurate 3D models and CAD surfaces from point-cloud data - a fundamental data type that is growing in importance for product design, reverse engineering and rapid prototyping as users want to bring physical objects such as clay models or existing parts into the digital realm.
