BURLINGTON, Mass., USA, May 1, 2006 - Z Corporation, maker of the world's fastest 3D printers, continued to earn industry recognition this spring for its unique combination of speed, color and affordability, winning two engineering industry awards within two weeks.

The Spectrum Z™510 high-definition color 3D printer won a Bronze in the 11th Annual Product Design & Development Engineering Awards over nearly 50 finalists. Readers of the magazine scrutinized entrants on "innovation, creativity and usefulness." The selection earned Z Corp. a crystal globe for its role in helping engineering improve the world.

A few days earlier, the Spectrum Z510 was named runner-up in the 2006 Design News Golden Mousetrap awards in the rapid prototyping tools category. The printer was featured in the March 20 issue of the magazine and recognized for "potentially shaving days off the design cycle."

The Spectrum Z510 is the only high-definition color 3D printer on the market. It provides 24-bit color and 600 X 540 dpi (dots per inch) print-head resolution while maintaining the highest print speed in the industry; the largest build size in its class (254 mm X 356 mm X 203 mm, 10 in. X 14 in. X 8 in); and one of the lowest operating costs. Color models accurately reflect engineers' original design data and communicate more information than any other type of rapid prototype, providing users with a strategic advantage in product development. Companies like Fisher-Price, Reebok and Pixar are customers.

"Our customers' positive experiences with fast, colorful and affordable 3D printing are reverberating throughout the industry and establishing 3D printing as an integral part of the mainstream design process," said Tom Clay, Z Corp. CEO. "We're grateful that readers and editors of these influential magazines are recognizing our products' role in revolutionizing traditional business processes and supporting profits."
