Seoul, South Korea - Feb 9, 2009, INUS Technology, Inc. (www.rapidform.com) is pleased to announce a new OEM agreement with Roland DG Corporation, the leading worldwide manufacturer of inkjet devices, milling and engraving machines, and 3D scanners. Roland DG Corporation introduces the LPX 3D laser scanner with "Pixform® Pro II" software for Reverse Engineering. Pixform® Pro II is based on INUS Technology's 3D scanning software, Rapidform XOR, which converts scan data into editable 3D CAD models. Roland DG Corporation will offer this hardware-software combination as a special bundle.
"We are very pleased by this worldwide partnership aimed at bringing the value of 3D scanning to an ever wider market. We understand that Roland DG's 3D scanner technology has changed the dynamics of the 3D modeling software industry," said Calvin Hur, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Global Sales for INUS Technology. "Our partnership with Roland DG brings the power of Rapidform's class-leading software solution to the exciting new low-cost and high-volume market for personal design stations. Together, at a cost-effective price, Rapidform and Roland DG are offering technologies that will revolutionize the world of 3D scanning and alter the paradigm for many of the applications in which it's used."
Kaoru Okabe who was in charge of developing Pixform® Pro II, had this to say: "As the demand of reverse engineering based on 3D scan data has recently increased in manufacturing industry, we made an OEM agreement with INUS Technology and named the software Pixform® Pro II. The new LPX 3D laser scanner package is the best choice for product design and production, as it can quickly and easily transform existing parts or manually designed models into high quality parametric 3D CAD data. In addition, Pixform® Pro II generates complete CAD models with only a fraction of the "part scanned", so we can save time to market and lower production costs as well."
